Growing together with help of other to curve homelessness!
Welcome to our Home page.
What does a homeless family look like? They look like you and I in a crisis.Imagine not having the necessities of shelter to shield you from nature's weather. Homeless people are people like you and I. Please help or offer charity to a brother or sister in need. It would be difficult to live or work without the basic necessities.
Mission Statement:
As the sun rises on the Sixth Day Homeless Family Center (SDHFC), so shall your hope be in the restoration of life. SDHFC will “help families help themselves” by providing temporary, emergency shelter, transportation, counseling, furniture, clothing, and food assistance to families (women and children) in Port Saint Lucie County and the surrounding areas.
Vision Statement:
The future of the Sixth Day Homeless Family Center is to successfully assist, mentor, and counsel families to become self-sufficient and contributing members of the community .We will do this by building minds and souls one day at a time.
The economic crisis has caused a major strain on the family unit, so there is an immediate need for your assistance and our services. Other centers in South Florida have already turned away 375 individuals who are in need of services, but cannot locate any resources. We will provide shelter, transportation, nourishing meals, counseling, and job assistance while individuals search for employment.
Programs:
Emergency Shelter – this program will provide short-term shelter to families in a crisis situation.Transitional Housing – This program will provide long-term shelter to families who require additional assistance in becoming self-sufficient. The family will be assigned a case manager who will work with the family in setting goals and teaching them new skills that will assist them in budgeting, money management, parenting, etc.
